During the project for rehabilitation of Club de Mar at Palma de Mallorca, which is currently being carried out by the architectural Studio ENTRESITIO and FHECOR, the need for assessment of existing quays and docks has arisen.
Club de Mar was opened in 1972, after a construction period of 3 years. Today, after more than 45 years, an in-depth rehabilitation is being undertaken in order to maintain the relevant role it has been played during all this time in relation to recreational yachts.
For the assessment works, FHECOR has carried out a complete inspection and auscultation of all existing quays and docks, for which it has used boats and underwater inspection by teams of specialized divers. More than 4.5 km of quays and docks have been checked.
Once all the information has been analyzed, FHECOR has proceeded to make the corresponding diagnosis for each of the considered parts and subsequently define the durability strategies that will be able to extend its lifetime, in accordance with the requirements of the Owner.
