FHECOR will participate in Algomad 2016 by leading the workshop “Parametric Design of Bridges” and conducting the plenary session "The parametric approach in structural engineering projects". The plenary lecture will be given by José María González Ortolano, while the workshop will be led by Javier Gimenez Vila, both R&D Engineers at FHECOR Consulting Engineers.

About Algomad
Algomad is one of the most important seminars about parametric design in Spain. Since 2010 this meeting combines lectures of professionals with parametric design workshops. Traditionally focused on visual programming tools, this year the seminar will make special emphasis on BIM methodology. Algomad will take place from 3 to 5 November at Instituto de Empresa in Madrid (C/Serrano 105).

About the “Parametric Design of Bridges” workshop
The workshop is designed to show the capabilities of parametric design applied to bridge design. The approach to the problem will be made at different scales, from global (bridge element arrangement) to local (solving problems associated with particular types). Special emphasis will be made on the BIM project of bridges using tools such as Revit or Dynamo, exposing the problems the user can run into and the available solutions.

On the lecture "The parametric approach in structural engineering projects"
In the field of structural design, parametric treatment of project governing variables has been a common approach. Parametric software advances in recent years are leading to new workflows that improve the efficiency and quality of projects. In the lecture these aspects will be illustrated by specific case applications developed at FHECOR Consulting Engineers.
